Job Title: Assistant Veterinarian
Location: Dar Es Salaam

 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Poultry Veterinarian to join our team. The successful candidate will provide veterinary services to ensure the health and welfare of poultry flocks on multiple farms. The veterinarian will collaborate with the team to develop and implement herd health programs to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine visits to various farms to monitor flocks for signs of disease, injury or other health concerns
  • Develop and implement flock health programs to prevent and control diseases affecting poultry
  • Work with farm staff to ensure proper vaccination scheduling and medication administration
  • Collect and interpret diagnostic samples and analyze test results
  • Provide treatment plans and recommend appropriate medications or interventions when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical and production records
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in poultry medicine
  • Provide guidance, training and support to farm staff on animal husbandry practices and biosecurity protocols

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in  Veterinary Medicine (BVM)  from an accredited veterinary school
  • Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Tanzania.
  • Experience working with poultry flocks preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, able to maintain accurate and complete records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around live animals
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Age between 28yrs – 35yrs
